A very big BRAVO to Ukrainian Davidsbündler students Yulianna Beziazychna (9) and Pavlo Slipko (12) for making their wonderful debuts tonight in the Concertgebouw. What a great honor for them to share the stage with concert pianist Nino Gvetadze and members of the Concertgebouw Orchestra in this special fundraising event for the Alzheimer’s Center, Amsterdam. And a nice surprise to meet the former queen of the Netherlands, Queen Beatrix who was sitting right in the front row center! A good warm up for our Davidsbündler Feest concert on the same stage next month (June 16th).

Four lucky students recently got to spend a whole day with dutch violin soloist Rosanne Philippens at the academy. Our first full, "Day with an Artist" series, Rosanne gave one-on-one masterclasses, coached chamber music, had an "In-Depth" talk over dinner, and gave a casual concert together with the students. Thank you Rosanne for sharing your insight and wisdom!

Davidsbündler academists swept up all three prizes and the audience award at the first annual Rijnmond Muziek Prijs competition in Rhoon on Tuesday!! Congratulations Yulianna Beziazychna for taking first and the audience award, and to Ivan Petrenko and Sophia Dorosh for taking second and third, and to their teacher Tatiana Abayeva. And of course for their beautiful performances that left the public, the Ukrainiain Ambassador and the jury members beaming.
