About the event
Doors open: 15:30
Concert: 16:00
This richly expressive program journeys from the elegance and dialogue of Barrière’s Sonata in G for Two Cellos to the shadowy, impressionistic colors of Debussy’s Cello Sonata, with its mysterious Prologue, nocturnal Sérénade, and dazzling Finale. Rachmaninoff’s beloved Vocalise closes the first half with soaring lyricism before the monumental Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 19 brings the evening to a powerful conclusion—its sweeping themes, fiery scherzo, and deeply heartfelt slow movement embodying the full Romantic intensity of Rachmaninoff’s voice.
Enjoy with a side of Christmas cookies, hot chocolate or festive bubbles!
